Description

Camino de Los Molinos is a typical Extremadura meadow, in which open areas, groves of poplars and old orchards are interspersed. It is a very good place to see Lesser Spotted Woodpecker. Very abundant also in passerines and forest raptors. The path runs near a stream, where there are several old mills. It ends in a large area of Mediterranean forest and pasture. Among the birds you can see besides Lesser Spotted Woodpecker, are Sparrowhawk, Short-toed Snake Eagle, Eurasian Black Vulture, Cirl Bunting, Red Kite, Long-eared Owl, Long-tailed Tit, Iberian Magpie and Western Orphean Warbler. But many more, see the extended birdlist below.
