Description
DMZ (Demilitarized Zone) in Cheorwon region is the border area with North Korea, which has become a paradise for the wildlife in Korea after the war. It is the biggest habitat for the Red-crowned Crane in Korea. During winter, you can observe various species of winter migrant birds including the White-naped Crane, Hooded Crane, Eurasian Black Vulture, White-tailed Eagle, Whooper Swan and Baikal Teal.

Cheorwon DMZ is close to the border with North Korea. The access is possible by car. Press P on the map for directions. It is a heavily controlled area, so you need to prepare the ID card to access most of the places in the area. The circular route shown on the map is about 40 km.
