Description
The Miradouro Penha das Torres is located opposite the Presa de Castro dam, about 12 km upstream from Miranda do Douro. It is considered the easternmost point of Portugal and offers stunning views of the Douro River as it enters Portugal. Birds you can see soaring by include Griffon Vulture, Egyptian Vulture, Golden Eagle, Short-toed Snake Eagle, Booted Eagle, Red Kite and Black Stork. Other birds you can observe are European Bee-eater, Golden Oriole, Red-billed Chough, Crag Martin and Blue Rock Thrush.

The Miradouro Penha das Torres is located in the village of Paradela, near Miranda do Douro in the northeastern part of Portugal. Close to the viewpoint is a parking lot. Press P on the map for directions.
