Revitalized city pond in Świętochłowice.
The Kalina Pond was created due to the depression of the area caused by mining works. In the second half of the 20th century, it was very polluted. In recent years, effective revitalization has been carried out, and the area around the pond has become a recreational area. At least 50 species of birds have been observed here, the most important of which is the breeding Rose-ringed Parakeet a species that is invasive in Poland.
The Kalina Pond is located in Świętochłowice. Access to this place is very easy, you can park anywhere nearby. Press P on the map for directions to a parking spot.
