The Długa Luka marsh in Biebrza National Park is famous for it is a great place to spot Lăcar de pipirig. But also many other interesting birds can be seen.
A 400 meter boardwalk brings you deep into the marsh of Długa Luka, the largest complex of low peat bogs in the Biebrza swamps. At the end of the boardwalk there is a viewing platform from which you can see and hear the birds in the surrounding peat bogs. Many birders come here and hope to catch a glimpse of Lăcar de pipirig. Among the other birds you can see in this area are Lăcar mic, Ciuf de câmp, Erete sur, Erete de stuf, Culic mare, Sitar de mal, Cocoș de mesteacăn, Cuc, Cocor, Mărăcinar mare, Grelușel de stuf, Grelușel pătat and Cristel de câmp.
Very good access by car with the possibility of parking. Click on the P in the map to get directions. It's worth being there at dawn for the best birding.
