Salvøy is an island located on the west side of Karmøy in Rogaland. The island is connected to the mainland by an embankment to Ospøynå and from there a bridge to Karmøy. The sheltered bays around Salvøy are a good place for observing ducks, loons and grebes in winter. Among the birds you can spot are Little Grebe, Black Guillemot, Slavonian Grebe, Red-throated Diver, Great Northern Diver, Red-breasted Merganser, Common Scoter, Red-necked Grebe, White-tailed Eagle, Mute Swan, Common Guillemot, European Herring Gull and Great Black-backed Gull.
