Description
The site consists of a planted forest, reed beds and water basins. Many birds can be seen walking between the flow fields. It is a nice quiet place in the city of Groningen. The birds you can see here are both songbirds and waterfowl. There is also a large colony of Sand Martin. Birds you often can see here are Red-crested Pochard, Common Kingfisher, Great Crested Grebe and Black-necked Grebe.

Nederlands: De oude suikerfabriek werd gesloten in 2008. Tegenwoordig trekken voormalige vloeivelden van de Suikerunie heel wat vogels aan. Het terrein bestaat uit een aangeplant bos, rietvelden en waterbassins. Wandelend tussen de vloeivelden zijn veel vogels te zien. Het is een leuke rustige plaats in de stad Groningen. De vogels die je hier kunt zien zijn zowel zangvogels als watervogels. Ook is er een grote kolonie Sand Martin. Vogels die je hier vaak ziet zijn Red-crested Pochard, Common Kingfisher, Great Crested Grebe en Black-necked Grebe.
