Beautiful area with a transition from dune area to a polder. The clean and calcareous water flows from the dunes into the Volgerland. That attracts many birds (and special plants like orchids). The area is important for meadow birds and everywhere you can see Nagâț and singing Ciocârlie. Also Sitar de mal, Fluierar cu picioare roșii, Scoicar and Codobatură galbenă. Lopătar and Rață lingurar forage in the creek. In winter you can see Ploier auriu, Fugaci de țărm, Fluierar negru, Fluierar cu picioare verzi and other waders in the Volgerland. And large groups of Gâscă neagră. In spring and early summmer Nagâț fiercely defend their young against Cioară neagră flying overhead. Next to meadow birds in Volgerland you can see birds from reedbeds like Lăcar mic and Pițigoi de stuf and birds from thickets like Frunzăriță galbenă. The Volgerland is right next to the beach. At low tide you can see seals on the sandbanks off the coast. Moreover, in winter you can often see Cufundar mic, Ferestraș moțat and various types of grebes without a telescope. De wandeling die je hier kunt maken is een mooie combinatie van vogels kijken aan zee en het zien van rietvogels en weidevogels. Prachtig gebied met overgang van duingebied naar polder. Het schone en kalkhoudende water stroomt vanuit de duinen het Volgerland in. Dat trekt veel vogels (en bijzondere planten zoals orchideeën) aan. Het gebied is belangrijk voor weidevogels en overal zie je Nagâț en zingende Ciocârlie. Ook Sitar de mal, Fluierar cu picioare roșii, Scoicar en Codobatură galbenă. Lopătar en Rață lingurar foerageren in de kreek. In de winter zie je Ploier auriu, Fugaci de țărm, Fluierar negru, Fluierar cu picioare verzi en andere steltlopers in het Volgerland. En grote groepen Gâscă neagră en Gâscă călugăriță. In het voorjaar en de vroege zomer verdedigen Nagâț hun jongen fel tegen Cioară neagră die boven hun hoofd vliegen. Naast weidevogels in Volgerland zie je rietvogels zoals Lăcar mic en Pițigoi de stuf en struweelvogels zoals Frunzăriță galbenă. Het Volgerland ligt pal naast het strand. Access
The Volgerland is located on the northwest point of Goeree Overflakkee. You can park in the parking lot next to the lighthouse Westhoofd. From there a nice walk of 5 km runs through the Volgerland. The route is shown on the map and in the field marked with white arrows.

Nederlands: Het Volgerland ligt op de noordwestpunt van Goeree Overflakkee. Parkeren kan op het parkeerterrein naast de vuurtoren Westhoofd. Van daaruit loopt een mooie wandeling van 5 km door het Volgerland. De route wordt weergegeven op de kaart beneden. In het veld is de route gemarkeerd met witte pijlen.
