This lake is one of the better places to see diving ducks, grebes and divers in the winter around the city of Arnhem.
Rhederlaag is a recreational area around approximately 300 hectares of former gravel pits on the river IJssel. One of the better places to see diving ducks, grebes and divers in the winter around Arnhem. In the winter you can regularly find diving ducks, grebes and divers at the Rhederlaag, which are scarce for inland areas. You can often find Black-necked Grebe here and sometimes also Slavonian Grebe or Black-throated Diver.

Nederlands: Rhederlaag is een recreatiegebied rondom circa 300 hectare uitgegraven plassen aan de IJssel. Eén van de betere plekken om duikeenden, futen en duikers te zien in de winter rondom Arnhem. In de winter kun je bij de Rhederlaag regelmatig voor het binnenland schaarse duikeenden, futen en duikers vinden. Vaak kun je er Black-necked Grebe vinden en soms ook Slavonian Grebe of Black-throated Diver.
Rhederlaag is located on the river IJssel between the towns of Giesbeek and Lathum. Parking is available at Grand Cafe Rutgers during opening hours. Please note: the parking lot is only intended for guests of the cafe. Paid parking is available 300 meters south of the cafe.
