Small pond near the village of Velp in the province of Brabant. The pond, a wide ditch and the wooded patches surrounding it attract many birds.
The Paterswiel is a small pond in the Hertogswetering stream. At the monastery you have an old garden with tall old trees and on the other side also a forest with a lot of water in between. You will encounter many birds in this area in spring and summer. Birds you may encounter include Great Crested Grebe, Common Cuckoo, White Stork, Great Egret, Sparrowhawk, Eurasian Goshawk, Barn Owl, Common Kingfisher, Great Spotted Woodpecker, Lesser Spotted Woodpecker, Eurasian Green Woodpecker, Merlin, Peregrine Falcon, Sedge Warbler, Short-toed Treecreeper, Western Yellow Wagtail and Linnet.

Nederlands: Het Paterswiel is kleine waterplas in de Hertochswetering. Bij de paters heb je een oude tuin met hoge oude bomen en aan de andere kant ook een bos waar veel water tussen aanwezig is. Je komt in dit gebiedje veel vogels tegen in het voorjaar en zomer.
