Low sandy pine-forested area with picnic site and cafe. 214 species have been seen including 4 woodpecker species, Eurasian Wryneck, Nutcracker, Western Capercaillie, Bewick's Swan, Long-tailed Duck, White-tailed Eagle, Red-footed Falcon, Firecrest, European Honey-buzzard, Rough-legged Buzzard, Thrush Nightingale, Eurasian Hoopoe, Citrine Wagtail, Savi's Warbler, Barred Warbler and River Warbler.
By road from Riga take A10 west then P120 north through Talsi. Nearest train station at Ventspils. The Cape can also be viewed from the Riga-Stockholm and Riga-Gdansk ferries.
