Description

Oasi WWF Valtrigona is a small valley within the Lagorai Chain. The considerable climatic variation is reflected on the flora and fauna present, very rich. All the typical alpine species are represented. There are many species of birds from raptors to passerines. The nature trail which can be visited from June to October, runs through conifer forests and mountain meadows. You can encounter birds like Western Capercaillie, Rock Ptarmigan, Hazel Grouse, Golden Eagle, Rock Partridge, Black Woodpecker, Eurasian Three-toed Woodpecker, but also mammals like chamois, fox and ermine.

Tra i mammiferi cervo, capriolo, camoscio, marmotta, lupo, volpe, ermellino, donnola, martora, lepre alpina, scoiattolo. Occasionalmente presente l’orso bruno alpino. Tra gli uccelli gallo cedrone, gallo forcello, pernice bianca, francolino di monte, aquila reale, astore, sparviere, gheppio, civetta nana, corvo imperiale, gracchio alpino, nocciolaia, picchio nero, picchio cenerino, picchio tridattilo e rosso maggiore. Tra gli anfibi rana temporaria e tritone alpino. Tra i rettili, marasso e lucertola vivipara.

Access

From Trento you have to take the S.S. 47 della Valsugana, for about 40 km, and exit at Borgo Valsugana or Castelnuovo; then follow the signs for Telve and then for Passo Manghen and the WWF Oasis. Park at Malga Valtrighetta and follow the signs on an easy path.
