Description
Örfirisey is a reliable spot to observe the birdlife of the Reykjavík bay. Especially in the colder times of the year. Bringing your telescope, a scan of the bay and horizon might produce birds like Long-tailed Duck, European Shag, Northern Gannet, Little Auk, Harlequin Duck and Red-breasted Merganser. You might also see Red-throated Diver and Great Northern Diver. Örfirsey has also hosted a male White-winged Scoter every winter since 2014, proving it as a reliable spot for this vagrant. Overhead, Snow Bunting might pass, and along the rocks there might be Black Guillemot.
