Kecseri Puszta Nature Reserve covers 1,226 hectares between Kisújszállás and Karcag. It consists of a lake system surrounded by saline grasslands, with an extremely rich bird life, with marshes on its western side. The flora and fauna remaining of the former steppe can be found in mosaics on the diverse terrain. Among the birds you can encounter in the area are Red-breasted Goose, Glossy Ibis, Cattle Egret, Northern Lapwing, Lesser White-fronted Goose, Garganey, Ferruginous Duck, Northern Pintail, Common Shelduck, Common Quail, Grey Partridge, Red-backed Shrike, Great Reed Warbler, Common Crane, Ruff, Imperial Eagle and White-tailed Eagle.
