The olive groves on the Korakas headland are great for migrating songbirds that crossed the strait from Turkey during autumn migration.
The Korakas headland provides some great spots for arriving migrants during autumn migration; especially the olive groves on this side of the headland. These groves can be packed with mixed flocks of migrants, like Common Redstart, Pied Flycatcher, Spotted Flycatcher and many species of warblers. The area is also used by Eurasian Nuthatch during the breeding season, and lots of Middle Spotted Woodpecker can be found here too.
Some parts of the track provide a great view over the strait towards Turkey, so scan the skies for migrating raptors, storks, swifts and hirundines.
The Korakas headland has unpaved roads only, and some parts can be pretty steep. A decent car is advised to drive around the headland, but not necessary if you're an experienced driver. MOST CAR RENTALS DON'T ALLOW YOU TO DRIVE HERE THOUGH.
