Description

The Katapetros valley is located just northwest of Skalochori, and has several roads leading through the area towards the sea. One of these roads (see map) is a great route to stop and drive along while visiting this part of the island. The groves adjacent to this road are great for Olive-tree Warbler and Masked Shrike, and can be great for migrants, like Golden Oriole. Other local breeders that can be seen here are Eastern Orphean Warbler and Short-toed Snake Eagle.

Access

There are multiple roads leading towards the sea from Skalochori, but the one presented here is one of the best ones for local breeding species and migrants. The road can be very bumpy on some parts, and a good car is advised to drive with here.
