Small lagoon, with easy access, holding water all year long. Great for autumn (best for plovers and sandpipers) and spring migration. Bring swimsuit in summer.
The lagoon is holding water all year long, so there is always something worth to see. Especially from mid July to September, when the rest of the region is practically dry, Artemis Lagoon provides the best habitat for autumn migrants, mostly shorebirds. Spring is also interesting, with lots of Black-winged Stilt breeding, terns, herons and other migrants
Terminal of Bus 305 (from Athens Nomismatokopio Metro Station) gets you right next to the lagoon. Easy car access too, but with no views to the lake, you need to walk for 5 min. Best explore the area on foot.
