Description
The Schönauer Lachen is a natural monument ("Naturdenkmal") that is characterized by a mosaic of ponds, reed beds, marshes and surrounding grasslands. In the area you will be able to find bird species such as pikkulepinkäinen , rastaskerttunen , pensassirkkalintu , kirjokerttu , keltasirkku , etelänsatakieli , pussitiainen , rautiainen , käki and many more.

Access
Schönauer Lachen is located on the western outskirts of Leipzig. By car, you can park in a small side street at the "P" symbol. If you come by public transport, you can either take the train to "Leipzig-Rückmarsdorf" or the tram to "Parkallee" and walk through the Schönauer Park heading north.
The circular route indicated on the map is about 3,7 km. Part of the path is a closed railway track. There is a small path next to it or you just walk across the tracks.
