Description

The site has different habitats with different bird species on a small range. In the large southern pond, you can find birds such as Common Tern , Great Crested Grebe , Mute Swan and Garganey. In the Lindelbach (on the map labeled "Das tiefe Wasser"), you can find species such as Common Kingfisher , Great Egret , Grey Heron , Gadwall. On the nearby fields (east and north), you have open land species such as Eurasian Skylark , Red Kite , Black Kite and Eurasian Kestrel.

Access

Lindelbach & Das Tiefe Wasser is right next to the village Groitzsch, 20 km northeast of Leipzig (not the city with the same name south of Leipzig). You can park your car between the two ponds and walk the rest. Press P on the map for directions to the parking. While marked "P", this is not an official parking lot.
