Description
The coastal habitats of St. Peter-Ording represent a unique hotspot of biodiversity with a large number of rare species. The FFH area is a Natura 2000 area with forest and dunes. Many forest species such as šoupálek krátkoprstý, sýkora parukářka, sýkora uhelníček, strakapoud velký can be observed here. In addition to many specialized and highly endangered insects and plant species, some rare birds can also be found in the dunes. krkavec velký can often be heard in the dune areas and sluka lesní can be heard and seen courting at night.

Flora und Fauna Habitat Sankt-Peter-Ording can be accessed via several hiking trails. The best way to get around is on foot, but you can also cycle. It is a protected area, so please stay on the marked trails and keep your dogs on a leash! The circular walk indicated on the map is about 2,5 km.
