During the bird migration season at Ausgleichsfläche Dellmensingen you can observe waders such as Green Sandpiper, Ruff, Wood Sandpiper, Common Ringed Plover and Northern Lapwing. In summer Little Ringed Plover breeds regularly in the area. Visiting from the adjacent river Danube and the Danube Canal are birds such as Black-headed Gull , Ruddy Shelduck and Eurasian Coot. The best observation opportunities are from the dam. The area is flooded regularly (March & July)
