Le plan de la Garde aims to protect and enhance a vast flood expansion zone, a wetland for the flora and fauna it shelters. It is a veritable green lung, made of renatured streams, green pools and preserved natural spaces, located in the heart of the communes of La Garde and Pradet. In the 130-hectare park 800 trees were planted and 55 000 aquatic plants. More and more birds are attracted to the renatured area. The basins with thick reed beds, mudflats and open water areas are very interesting for migrants. Many migratory birds already visit the site during their migratory stop. Among the birds you can see here are Pie-grièche à tête rousse, Chevêche d'Athéna, Héron pourpré, Martin-pêcheur d'Europe, Épervier d'Europe, Rousserolle effarvatte, Rousserolle turdoïde and Bouscarle de Cetti.
