One of the main reedbed areas in the Paris area. A great spot for many species of reedbirds!
Le Champ Virlois is interesting for several reedbed species, including Bluethroat, Great Reed Warbler, Sedge Warbler, Little Bittern, Water Rail and Western Marsh Harrier. Penduline Tit has been spotted in stopover and crakes are possible.
In the surrounding forests Eurasian Bullfinch, Eurasian Hobby, Willow Warbler and Black Kite are quite easy to see. Stone-curlew and Common Goldeneye can be found at the surrounding gravel pits.
Le Champ Virlois is best reached by car (very far from any train station). Click on the P in the map for directions.
