In Forêt des Battées you can observe birds of prey such as Eurasian Goshawk and Booted Eagle and woodpeckers such as Middle Spotted Woodpecker and Black Woodpecker. Also Common Raven, Stock Dove and Wood Warbler breed in the forest. Eurasian Woodcock can be found on passage or in winter.

Access
To get to Forêt des Battées, in the village of La Forge, take the small road to Val Saint-Benoît. Park just after the bridge over the TGV line. Click on the P in the map for directions. The circular walking route indicated on the map is about 4 km.
