Description

Along the salt lakes and salt pans of Etang de la Ville in Aigues Mortes, you can observe many different birds. Here, you are almost guaranteed to see plameňák růžový and have a good chance of spotting vlha pestrá and racek tenkozobý. You can combine this with a walk through the town and observe the many vlaštovka obecná and rorýs obecný. There is a fenced-off section, accessible by payment, and an open section.

Access

Etang de la Ville is located directly south of Aigues Mortes. There is ample parking (paid). Press P on the map for directions to a parking lot. The circular walk shown on the map is approximately 2 km.

Preferably visit outside the peak season due to crowds. Aigues Mortes is a tourist town.
