The Saint-Nicolas de la Grave lake is an ornithological reserve, recognized for its diversity of bird species.
Confluence Garonne - Tarn à Saint-Nicolas-de-la-Grave. This 400 hectare site was created in the early 1970s at the confluence of the Tarn and the Garonne. This vast body of water is part of the Natura 2000 network as a Special Protection Zone (European Bird Directive 1979) and thus responds to the need to protect species of birds of Community interest and their habitats. It is well known for wintering water birds.
Site located 80 km North of Toulouse. Acces between Moissac and Saint-Nicolas-de-la-Grave on D15 road.
The Natural Sciences Society of Tarn-et-Garonne has an ornithological observatory that is open on saturdays only during winter and spring.
