Description

Sannannokka is a bird observation platform located on the Gulf of Bothnia. The area around the platform has beaches, salt marshes, mudflats, reed fields and shallow waters. It’s a great spot to watch the migration of Arctic species during spring and autumn, as well as feeding waders in spring and summer. Among the birds you can observe are Spotted Redshank, Common Greenshank, Wood Sandpiper, Common Ringed Plover, Bar-tailed Godwit, Ruff, Dunlin, Whooper Swan, Common Shelduck, Common Goldeneye, Water Rail and Common Crane. White-tailed Eagle is present year-round.

Access

The Sannannokka platform is situated 15 km northwest of the town of Pori. You can park at the Huhtalanraitti parking area located at Huhtalanraitti 206 in Pori. Click on the P in the map for directions. From the parking it is a 1,7 km walk to the Sannannokka platform. There are several other platforms in the area that are interesting to check out if you have the time (marked on the map with a viewpoint icon).
