West Point Island houses a Black-browed Albatross colony as well as Southern Rockhopper Penguin.
West Point Island was originally known as Albatross Island and is located in the north-west corner of the Falklands archipelago. It is 6 km long with a maximum width of 4 km and boasts some of the most spectacular coastal scenery in the Falklands. West Point Island has a large Black-browed Albatross colony as well as Southern Rockhopper Penguin with fairly high cliffs. Turkey Vulture can be seen around the trees and shrubs as well as around the settlements.
West Point Island is located in the north-west corner of the Falklands archipelago and can be accessed by boat.
