A lake created as a wetland project by Holbæk fjord. The area that has been artificially drained for 60 years has been flooded again.
Lake Tempelkrog is the best birding spot near Holbæk. Always lots of ducks, Eurasian Wigeon, Common Teal, Tufted Duck, Common Goldeneye, Northern Shoveler and grebes. Black-necked Grebe breeds here. During the spring and summer there are also many waders. In the reeds by the lake you can among others, see Reed Warbler, Marsh Warbler and Reed Bunting. You will always find birds here. There is a 4 km long path around the lake (see map), and sometimes you can get quite close to the birds.
Lake Tempelkrog is located 10 km southeast of Holbæk. You can park by Ågerup School, where there always is parking available. Press P on the map for directions. From the parking you can walk down to the lake (800 m), and come down to the path around the lake which is 4 km.
