Gråstenskovene

Rinkenæs Skov, Dyrehaven and Roden Skov make up the largerst part of the forests, which are located directly next to Gråsten Castle and which are collectively called the Gråsten forests (Gråstenskovene). The easy accessible deciduous forests are located in a scenic, hilly and varied terrain with open grazing areas and forest lakes. There is a rich wildlife with deer, fox, badger and marten. The site contains lakes Margrethe Sø, Slotssøen, Kujborgdam and Storedam. Among the birds you can encounter are Northern Shoveler, Common Goldeneye, Common Snipe, Little Grebe, Red-necked Grebe, Black-necked Grebe, Tawny Owl, Common Kingfisher, Great Spotted Woodpecker, Lesser Spotted Woodpecker, Black Woodpecker, Eurasian Hobby and Common Raven.
