Forested headland. The area also has a grazed plain and a coastline. So many different habitats for birds in a small area.
Arnkil Forest is located at the far end of the Arnkil peninsula between Augustenborg Fjord and Alssund. The area is a total of 106 hectares, of which the forest stands 66 hectares and the grazed plain area at the far end of Arnkilsøre approx. 30 hectares. Among the birds you can encounter are Little Grebe, Common Eider, Red-breasted Merganser, Eurasian Oystercatcher, European Golden Plover, Common Snipe, Sparrowhawk, Eurasian Hobby, Great Spotted Woodpecker, Eurasian Jay, Eurasian Nuthatch and Meadow Pipit.
The area has three parking lots. Click on a P in the map to get directions to the parking of your choice. The circular walk indicated on the map is about 6 km long.
