Description
The Nature reserve Nový rybník is an important breeding site for many reedbed birds such as Mavigerdan, Su kılavuzu, Büyük kamışçın, Kındıra kamışçını, Saz Kamışçını, Saz delicesi, Sutavuðu or Bataklık kirazkuşu. On the pond itself breed many pairs of Karabağ martı (the only occupied place in Plzensky region), Boz kaz, Sakarmeke, Yeşilbaş and a few pairs of Boz ördek, Elmabaş patka and Tepeli patka. In the rural areas and meadows breed Kızılsırtlı örümcekkuşu, Çekirge Kamışçını, Çalı kamışçını, Akgerdanlı ötleğen, Bülbül, Tarlakuşu and many others.
During the spring migration you can see birds such as Çayır taşkuşu, Taşkuşu, Çıkrıkçın, Kara sumru and many other species of waterfowl. In last years Turna is a regular guest here, especially in spring time. In late summer and autumn there is little water, which is suitable for Su çulluğu, Kızkuşu, Orman düdükçünü and other waders. In winter Büyük örümcekkuşu is a regular visitor.
Many birds come to spend a night in the reedbed, especially in the end of summer. It is the best place in the area where to watch Sığırcık murmuration (thousands of birds). You can also see Kır kırlangıcı and Sarý kuyruksallayan.

Easily accesible by car. There is a small parking lot in the south of the pond. You can also arrive by public transport using a bus to the city of Líně and then 20 minutes walking using the unpaved road.
