Nice birding spot on the Vltava River south of Prague. In winter, you can see some interesting birds there.

Description

This area along the Vltava River is not a very beautiful place, but you can find some interesting birds there and there are many ducks and swans on this part of the river. Mandarin Duck is common. Also common are Tufted Duck, Little Grebe, Mute Swan, Mallard, Black-headed Gull, Common Kingfisher, Black Redstart and Eurasian Green Woodpecker. In winter Caspian Gull and Great Cormorant are regulars. If you have a bit of luck, you can also find Gadwall. In the winter, some rarer ducks like Northern Shoveler, Eurasian Wigeon, Common Goldeneye, Goosander or Red-crested Pochard can be found there.

This area of the river is located 8 km south from the city center of Prague. Easy to reach from Prague by tram.
