The Gerny plateau is a fertile plain where lots of agrarian species nest or stop during migration. Both the open fields and the surrounding bushes are worth it.
Plateau du Gerny is an area of open fields surrounded by bushes. Red Kite and Black Kite are frequent. Annual observations of Dotterel, Montagu's Harrier, Tawny Pipit and sometimes Common Crane on the ground. Rare visiors that have been observed in the area are Richard's Pipit, Red-throated Pipit, Pine Bunting, Ortolan Bunting, Snow Bunting, Eurasian Hoopoe, Rough-legged Buzzard, Pallid Harrier, Booted Eagle, Black-winged Kite and Red-footed Falcon.
You can visit the main part of Plateau du Gerny by car but the eastern part is forbidden for cars. The circular route indicated on the map is about 8 km.
