Description

Small nature reserve between Rupel, Schelde and Zeekanaal. There is little vegetation. Two small and one larger waterbodies where mainly gulls, waterfowl, migratory birds and waders occur, including: Eurasian Spoonbill, White Stork, ducks, geese, herons, Eurasian Curlew, Common Snipe, Avocet, et cetera.

Nederlands: Mooi en rustig eiland in de rivier de Rupel. Een klein paradijs voor water-, trek- en andere vogels! Eurasian Spoonbill is een vaste zomergast. Het is een klein natuurgebied tussen Rupel, Schelde en Zeekanaal. Er is weinig vegetatie. Twee kleine en een grotere waterplassen waar vooral meeuwen, watervogels, trekvogels en steltlopers voorkomen, waaronder: Eurasian Spoonbill, White Stork, eenden, ganzen, reigers, Eurasian Curlew, Common Snipe, Avocet, enzovoort.

Access

Best way to visit is walking or cycling. The area is forbidden for cars. The circular walk you see on the map is about 4 km. You can get there by a small ferry for walkers and cyclists. For the most up-to-date ferry times, see the ferry link further down this page.

Nederlands: De beste manier om te bezoeken is wandelen of fietsen. Het gebied is verboden voor auto's. De rondwandeling die je op de kaart ziet is ongeveer 4 km.
