A hillside forest with beech as the primary tree species where you can enjoy Eurasian Nuthatch, Marsh Tit and other bird species.
The Koppenbergbos is a deciduous forest where you can enjoy woodpeckers such as Great Spotted Woodpecker as a common species and the Middle Spotted Woodpecker as the rarest. The large trees and the low-lying wood are good for Eurasian Nuthatch, Short-toed Treecreeper and Marsh Tit. The bushes are home to smaller songbirds such as Firecrest, Goldcrest and classics such as Common Chaffinch, Blackcap supplemented with Brambling in winter. For several years now, as in many forests in the Flemish Ardennes, there has been the presence of Eagle Owl.
