Description
The Hasseltbos is a forest with undergrowth and with older trees such as beech. This makes the forest attractive to typical forest birds such as Обыкновенный поползень, Короткопалая пищуха, Большой пёстрый дятел and even Средний пёстрый дятел can be admired there. There is a small piece of coniferous wood where you can hear and see Желтоголовый королёк and Красноголовый королёк. The bushes are attractive to Славка-черноголовка, Зяблик and Южный соловей (not annually). And including of course Канюк.

Nederlands: Het Hasseltbos is een bos met oudere bomen zoals beuken en met onderbegroeiing die het bos aantrekkelijk maakt voor de typische bosvogels zoals Обыкновенный поползень, Короткопалая пищуха, Большой пёстрый дятел en zelfs de Средний пёстрый дятел kan je er bewonderen. Er is een klein stukje naaldhout waar je dan weer Желтоголовый королёк en Красноголовый королёк kan horen en zien. De struiken zijn dan weer aantrekkelijk voor Славка-черноголовка, Зяблик en Южный соловей (niet jaarlijks). En uiteraard ontbreekt ook de Канюк niet.

Access
The Hasseltbos is located north of Geraardsbergen near the village of Ophasselt. Parking is possible along the public road Brambroek. The circular walk shown on the map is approximately 2 km.
