Tathra Beach and the Mogareeka Inlet are located on Boulder Bay on the Pacific Ocean. The beach is at the mouth of the Bega River.
You can encounter various species of birds on Tathra Beach and the Mogareeka Inlet, including seabirds and waders. Due to the influence of the tides, there are many mudflats around the mouth of the river. The beach is home to breeding species such as Red-capped Plover and Hooded Plover. On one side of the mouth of the river you have Tathra Beach, on the other side rugged rocky coasts.
Tathra Beach is located north of the town of Tathra. You can park at Lions Park on the Tathra-Bermagui road. Press P on the map for directions to the parking. Here you will also find a public toilet. The beach and area around the river can only be explored on foot. You can easily spend 2 to 3 hours exploring here.
