Description

Kinglake National Park lies on the slopes of the Great Dividing Range, a short drive from Melbourne. The park is home to a variety of native birds. Keep an eye out for Sulphur-crested Cockatoos, King Parrots and Rosellas, Eastern whipbirds, Gang-gang cockatoos, Superb lyrebirds, Scarlet robins and Silvereyes. This circular walk along Masons Falls is a relaxed way to combine birding with hiking. At the waterfall is a lookout platform, where you can watch streams of water cascade down the rock shelves into the gully below. The high drop waterfall is particularly impressive after recent rain.

In winter Superb Lyrebird is especially active and often seen foraging at the picnic area and along walking tracks.
