Djimla Forest is also known as Forêt de Bouafroune. The forest sits at an elevation of 1,287 meters. It is a mixed forest with clearings where Algerian Nuthatch and Atlas Flycatcher can be observed. Other birds that have been spotted include Griffon Vulture, Short-toed Snake Eagle, Booted Eagle, Maghreb Owl, Eurasian Hoopoe, European Bee-eater, Levaillant's Woodpecker, Common Raven and Golden Oriole.
Djimla Forest is located south of the town of Djimla (marked with 1 on the map). It is best to explore the forest with a guide.
