Description

Kinloch Marina and Lake Front has easy parking and access. You can walk all round the marina and about 1 km of lakefront as well. Other native birds - up to 3 of the native cormorant, including a small roost at the marina entrance and usually some great opportunities for White-faced Heron shots along the lake front at the marina outflow (eastern beach), or Whangamata Stream (500m along the western beach).

Access

Kinloch is a village located on the northern shores of Lake Taupō in the Waikato region. It's about 20 kilometers northwest of Taupō on the North Island. Free parking anywhere around the village. Press P on the map for directions. No public transport but only 20min from Taupo township. Walk around the area, all good paths, up to an hour, if you decide to wander up or down the beaches (pebble). Water is cold off the mountains but great for a swim!
