Description

Whilst Trinity Hill (LNR) is a very popular walking area, the heathland and conifer plantations (Note some paths have steep inclines), hold the most interests for birdwatchers in the Summer months. You can find resident Fauvette pitchou and Tarier pâtre with Engoulevent d'Europe, Locustelle tachetée and Pipit des arbres in the Summer months.

BE WARNED OF THE FOLLOWING:

Please keep to well established paths in the Summer months, to prevent disturbance to ground nesting birds.

The area is very popular among dog walkers, unfortunately in recent years some owners are not picking up their dogs waste and some are allowing their dogs to run off lead and not under control especially across the heathland section, if you see disturbance to ground nesting birds (a criminal act under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981) please report this to Wild East Devon/East Devon District Council by telephone on 01395 317557 (working hours only) and report the problem, the location (heathland or conifer plantation), the date and time of day. Deliberate disturbance of ground nesting birds can be reported to Devon And Cornwall Police on free phone number 101, they also have a wildlife officer.

The heathland supports a healthy population of both Adder (Vipera berus) and Common Lizard (Zootoca vivipara).

The Food Truck (Drinks and Snacks) NO longer operates from the car park.
