Description

Home Farm Marsh was part funded by the National Lottery Fund amongst many others and is run by the Gaia Trust. It comprises of a number of fields (once a dairy farm), some of which are still grazed, others are sown with crops to benefit wildlife. The area is surrounded on the estuary side by an embankment, many of the fields are very wet and flood easily, due to this, suitable footwear is advised. BE WARNED DO NOT STRAY OFF MARKED FOOTPATH.

Access

Leave Barnstaple (South of the river) on B3233, after passing through Bickington look for sign to Fremington Quay, turn right into this narrow road that takes you to Fremington Quay, where there is a car park. For Home Farm Marsh walk West along Tarka Trail cycle path, after crossing Fremington Pill footbridge the path is lightly wooded, eventually opening up, the entrance to the marsh is on the right. BE AWARE THE MARSH IS A NO DOGS AREA.
