Description

Huntley Meadows Park is a hidden gem. Its centerpiece is a 500-acre freshwater marsh surrounded by mostly deciduous woodlands. The park has a half-mile accessible boardwalk, woodland trails, and a unique hemi-marsh wildlife habitat. Over 200 species of birds have been recorded.

Huntley Meadows Park is located in the Hybla Valley area of Fairfax County, Virginia, south of the city of Alexandria. The park has over 3.8 miles (6.1 km) of maintained trail and features a visitor center, a beaver-created wetland with boardwalk, wildlife observation platforms, and an interpretative trail system. Parking available for free before the nature center. Click on the P in the map for directions or coordinates to the parking. No bikes allowed on the trail, walking and strollers allowed. No pets permitted on boardwalk.
