Small, quaint town with floral displays, riverside walks, disused railway line is a local nature reserve.
The Usk Valley Walk runs through the town, the river has flowering water crowfoot, Himalayan balsam, bats, Рибалочка блакитний, Пронурок біловолий, Крех великий, Пірникоза мала, Мала біла чапля, Чапля сіра, Плиска гірська, Вівсянка очеретяна, Баклан великий, otters and more. The Rural Life Museum is excellent. Bats roost in the railway tunnel. At Llanbadoc church are a picnic site, play area, and plaque to Alfred Russell Wallace, discoverer of evolution.
Usk is two miles west of the A449 Monmouth/Newport trunk road. Bus 36 from Monmouth or Newport stops at Usk and Llanbadoc. Pontypool train station is 9 miles away.
