Estuary and open sea with sand beach, tidal mudflats, saltmarsh. Views across to Harlech Castle
Traeth Glaslyn (hide) is the main reserve, north of Ffestiniog Light Railway and A497 road. Smaller reserve south of Morfa Bychan golf course. Winter and autumn brings divers, waders, Синьга flock, Лебідь-кликун, Сова болотяна. Крех середній and Мартин малий get blown inshore after storms. High tide best views, otherwise telescope essential. Take care when walking in tidal areas. Some areas are completely covered at high tide and are slippery at low tide, boots are best. Park at small layby near Toll house eastern end of causeway. Other car parks as marked on the map. A trip on the FFestiniog Light Railway gives an overview of the area.
