The largest natural lake in Wales, formed from an ice age glacial hollow, a centre for archaeology, and outdoor activities.
Llangorse Lake is surrounded by a patchwork of green hills, fields, meadows and hedgerows. Picturesque lake with reconstructed crannogs, camping/caravanning, boating, fishing, birding and an outdoor activity centre nearby. In the reedbeds are Очеретянка ставкова, Очеретянка лучна and Очеретянка середземноморська, plus Вівсянка очеретяна. In late summer up to 3000 Ластівка берегова and 400 Казарка канадська roost. Шпак звичайний murmuration outside breeding season. Passage migrants such as Набережник палеарктичний, Кулик-сорока, Кульон великий, Коловодник звичайний, Грицик великий, Мартин скельний and Скопа. Підсоколик великий and Шуліка рудий soaring over the water. Otters possible at dawn and dusk.
From A40, turn right in the village of Bwlch, lake is on the left after 4 miles. Car park and cafe. Click on the P in the map to get directions. Pub in the village. 7 or 8 mile circular walk passes large bird hide, ancient church, and activity centre.
