Fallätsche has a completely different climate than the rest of the forest around. With the bushes, pines and clearings, the area is reminiscent of the south.
Falätsche has a very diverse vegetation due to frequent landslides. Down at the foot of the area it reminds you of a mixed forest in central Europe, but on the slopes it feels more like a mountain slope in southern Europe. In the open forest there are various orchids in May and June. But the Falätsche also offers bird species, which are rare in Mittelland, such as Вівчарик світлочеревий Тинівка лісова Жовна чорна, Дятел середній, Крук звичайний Серпокрилець білочеревий Кропив’янка прудка, Мухоловка сіра, Снігур звичайний, Костогриз, Дрізд-омелюх and Яструб великий.
Since the Falätsche is close to the city of Zürich, it is often underestimated by hikers. Visit only in good weather, with sturdy shoes. Don't leave the path. Tick protection is recommended. From the Manegg train station, you can walk up. The circular walk indicated on the map starts from the Manegg train station and is 4,5 km. Click on a P in the map for directions to a parking.
