Description
Stockviken is one of the best birding areas on Gotland. It has two different areas: an inland lake ("inre") with a watchtower and a bay ("ytre"). You can see ducks, geese, Орлан-білохвіст, Кам’янка звичайна, terns, reedbirds and waders. Many rare species have been seen here over the years. The area's nesting birds include waders such as Коловодник звичайний, Кулик-сорока, Брижач, Кульон великий, Грицик великий, Чоботар синьоногий and Побережник чорногрудий, but also other species such as Крячок малий, Крячок каспійський and Крячок полярний. Especially in spring – from early April to mid-May – but also during autumn – mainly in October – thousands of Казарка білощока can be seen in the area.
