Description
The entire lake of Vendelsjön holds a rich bird life but here in the southern end there is a birdtower from which one can easily discover the many species that reside here. From the reeds you can hear birds like Бугай водяний and Очеретянка велика. A great place to see Swedish rarities like Мартин малий, Крячок чорний, Осоїд євразійський and Чирянка велика. The café, Ängslyckans Café, is only open on sundays.

Access
Vendelsjön is a ca. 35 km car trip north from Uppsala. Possibly best reached by driving on the Gävlevägen (the old E4) and turning right at Läby, then follow the road that goes under the current E4 and towards Romstarbo, at the southern most tip of the lake there is a parking lot on the left side of the road if you come from the Uppsala direction. From there it is only a short walk to the birdtower.
